The most outspoken member of the band Slayer. He tends to speak more aggressively and arrogantly than the other members of Slayer, who have a fairly laid-back attitude.

He plays guitar, and although he is not as great a songwriter as Jeff Hanneman's, he has written some brilliant but overlooked songs like Skeletons of Society.

His tone is crisper than Jeff's and his rhythm work sounds tighter live. The notes sound more discrete and focused.

Melodically, Kerry shares the insane/chromatic tendencies as Jeff that make Slayer unique. When he plays leads, he uses a more theory-based approach than Jeff, especially lately. Many of the solos on Seasons in the Abyss sound quite learned in addition to being effective.
