Fifth of five, following Per (1957) (pronounced like pair or pear), Amy (1959), Kristin (1961) (pronounced like Kristine or Christine) , Birgit (1963) (pronounced with a hard g like get-- burr git). Raised in Mitchell, Hot Springs, Piedmont, South Dakota. Graduated from Sturgis Brown High School, Sturgis, SD in 1991. Attended Augsburg College, Minneapolis, MN, graduating in 1995 cum laude bachelor of arts in theater arts and English; presidential scholar, honors program graduate, departmental honors in theater. Married Leann Sue (Freeberg) Olsen of Golden Valley, MN, August 17, 1996. Attended Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN from 1996-1999. Approximately 12 credits shy of master of arts in systematic theology. Currently on leave of absence. Lives in Spearfish, South Dakota. Works at Country Media, Inc., Sturgis, SD as technical support and information systems manager for community newspapers and printing company.
