Sara Moulton, who lives in New York with her husband and two children, will have her first cook book published this fall. She is probably best known as the long running hostess of "Cooking Live" on the Food Network. In March of 2002 that show aired for the last time, and the following day Sara began a new show, "Sara's Secrets".

Born Sara Stockwell in New York City, she celebrates her birthday on February 19 of each year. Sara graduated the University of Michigan in 1974. Because she "always liked to eat" (quoted from her website), and having always been a fan of Julia Child, Sara turned to cooking. She attended the Culinary Institute of America where she graduated, with the highest honors. After graduation, she became an associate chef on the Julia Child and More Company show on PBS. Sara then traveled to France, on the advise of Julia, to continue her studies. She obtained an apprenticeship to a master chef in Chartres. Upon return to America she worked in restaurants in New York and Boston.
