Termination Dust is the light dusting of snow that falls apon the mountain peaks in the ranges surrounding my town in late August to mid-September. From my town you can see these peaks, but being at sea level the locals do not concern themselves. They know that mid-September is not the time to worry about bad weather. However, pukers (tourists) see this light dusting of snow as a signal to abandon their seige on our fair city and leave for warmer climbs. Snowbirds dread the sight of termination dust, but locals welcome it.
