This is something very important -- when you're saying your phone number out loud (in the US anyways), you should read it out as

Area Code
*pause*
Exchange
*pause*
Last 4 Digits

It's THAT simple! But some people can't seem to comprehend phone number rhythm and they read out 2 digits, then they pause, then they run the rest all together. It's FRUSTRATING to try to then decipher their number because it's all jumbled up in your head.

People who lack phone number rhythm also usually lack credit card number rhythm, an equally annoying malady.
