The Golden Glide rollerskating rink in Atlanta. Not everyone knows it, but rollerskating is alive and well, and it lives in Georgia. The dopest place in my rich imagination is about a third as cool as The Golden Glide; playing a variety of music from funky The JB's to super-smooth Erick Sermon, God smiles upon listeners in this darkly black-lit, Black-populated heaven. Hobble up to the slick floor in your green plastic fat-wheeled, toe-braked vehicles and see the confidence squirting out of the man who, while dancing at 15 miles per hour, slides past you sideways on his front wheels. Back wheels spinning freely in space. Only about twenty people here are that good; the other two-hundred dance and spin to the music, whooting and making me jealous.
