A large mountain in Dalmatia, on the coastal region of Croatia. In most of places it actually dives right into the Adriatic Sea. This makes for all sorts of wierd arrangements. Some places have forests but most of it is in the constant corrosion of the dolomite and sadre. This in turns makes a special type of landscape full of (sometimes underwater) caves, and even sub-sea-level lakes within caves!!.

During 1991-1993, many a landmine was planted on unaccessible Velebit routes. The popular hiking routes, however, are safe, so your chances of a Guerilla-suicide are somewhat slimmer.
