a foreign phrase I have seen boldly proclaimed around Chicago on the sides of bars and grocery stores for eons of time and was often intrigued by. It used to get stuck in my head and I would think about it for whatever duration of time my flighty attention span would allow, wondering how it was really pronounced and what it meant. Just yesterday, I discovered that "zimne piwo" is Ukranian for "cold beer." Another great mystery uncovered.

It's pronounced "Zimneh Peavo" and it actually means "Winter Beer" in Ukrainian. Close enough to cold beer though.
