Yabusame is the Japanese martial art of mounted archery.

In yabusame, the archer, clad in a traditional medieval hunting garb, rides a horse down a set track, similar to jousting, shooting three targets set off to the left along the track.

The three targets are square, made of cedar affixed to bamboo poles. They are spaced approximately 70 meters apart along the 255 meter track.

Cf. kyudo.
