A small toy consisting of a plastic body with some sort of movable part (usually feet or wheels) that can be used to propel the toy along when the simple gear system is wound up with a little plastic crank and then let loose to expend all its glorious potential energy in a little burst of motion. Anti-climatic, yes, but it still never fails to draw repeat customers.
