My mother said that a woman saying "Fuck you." when she was angry was sort of silly. Women don't have the equipment. Well, I suppose there are strap-ons, but anyhow....

Instead, she said, women should say "Wilt you." to men if the need arose. She said that the appropriate hand gesture was middle finger up, palm towards the offender, and the middle finger slowly lowered to the fist. It seemed a more appropriate sentiment to her.

When my son was a teenager, he and his friends would insult each other by calling each other "Pussy" or say "don't be a girl" or "that's so gay." For a while, every third word was "fuck". I would go stand in the room when there was a group of them and say, "Ok, now, talk to each other without using women's anatomy slang as an insult, using gay as an insult, or using any curse words." They could barely talk to each other, until they'd adjusted their brains back to "How we talk to adults."

My mother said she wasn't a feminist. Nor did she mean "Wilt you" as a curse. At least, I don't think so....
