wheelie bar

Automotive Term

A wheelie bar is a set of short arms that project several feet from the rear of a dragster. Their function is to prevent the front end of the vehicle from rising too far off the ground during massive acceleration. They are made from spring material and will have a set of small wheels on the end, (this prevents the bars from cutting long grooves in the ground).

Some of the most extreme flavors of rice boys have been known to install a set of wheelie bars on a Honda, even though they can have no possible effect on a front wheel drive car.
