labrusca, or vitis labrusca, or vitis labruscana, are species of grape vines that are native to North America. Although many of the grapes are grown for producing grape juice and table grapes, many American wineries are creating fine wines that rival traditional vitis vinifera wines. They are especially popular in New York and Washington vineyards and wineries.
Varieties of vitis labrusca grapes include (but are not limited to) Concord, Catawba, Niagara in large amounts of acerage, and Delaware, Dutchess, Elvira, Fredonia, Isabella, Ives, and Moore's Diamond in lesser acerage.
