Trimethadione is a crystalline compound with a bitter taste and a vaguely menthol-ish odour. It is an anticonvulsant and used in the treatment of epilepsy.

The brand name of the drug is Tridione. Doses should be taken with food or milk at regular intervals and at the same times. Medication should not be discontinued without consulting a doctor first. May cause drowsiness, stomach upset, loss of appetite, headache, irritability or fatigue. May cause an allergic reaction in the form of a rash, itching, pain, swelling.

Known to cause birth defects if taken during pregnancy.
