Trading Room Information ARCHitecture. The name given to a motley combination of hardware/software and networking protocols used to deliver realtime data on financial markets provided by Reuters.

The architecture includes a private network circuit, a caching and feed handling server communicating over a closed broadcast-based lan to one or more source distributors, which in turn connect to sink distributors which distribute the data to client applications over a point to point based network. An extra server is provided as a NAT gateway and DNS server for special network services including archived news.

The architecture involves multiple different machines including stock IBM PCs and Sun servers running different OSes including Solaris, QNX, and Interactive UNIX, and Windows NT.

Triarch is now outdated and soon to be replaced by RMDS, a hybrid of the Triarch system and a system based on TIB products.
