designed to enhance playability
to the "economy
" in-game. Player
s may choose to practice
and become masters in one or more of the following skills:
Items crafted or found with these skills have varying degrees of usability and monetary worth in the game. For the most part, however, the most valuable and useful items can be created only by the most skilled of smiths, tailors, potters, etc. Economies in EverQuest are generally set up such that items a character creates are always worth less to a merchant than what the merchant will sell the raw materials for. This fosters player interaction by encouraging the player to sell or trade her wares to other players, who are usually willing to pay more than what merchants will offer, but less than what the item would cost from merchants (who invariably sell items at incredible markups).
