Ministers who work mainly in television; the gig is as old as radio. To a TV station, they're as indispensible as infomercials. They often pastor real churches, but in many cases that church is also a TV studio, akin to Ted Turner's baseball stadium being a TBS studio. It's a pejorative, mainly because we a$$ociate it with its famou$-name practitioner$; there are, in fact, many cool folks on the tube, like Charles Stanley and George Rutler, who'd much rather enlighten than fleece.
