A living piece of art created by people striking poses to recreate famous masterworks of sculpture, painting, or other forms.

Tableaux vivants are like still dances in which costumed and made-up performers are arranged in a set with props so that they look like a famous Last Supper or a Pieta or even Whistler's Mother.

Smithsonian featured this amazing performance style in their November 2000 issue, focusing on the Pageant of the Masters (foapom.com) in Laguna Beach, California.
