A genre of music, orginating around the 70's. A mix of punk rawness and sound of techo/rave/electronica, it contains good points from both (depending on your view :), tracks are usually short, electronic or industrial sounding and sound almost live. Also know as electroclash, disco nouveau, electro-punk, neu disko, synth-pop, no-wave and nu-volt, it's roots lie in artist's like New Order and Kraftwerk. Lately there has been a serge in interest and several clubs have popped up in Detroit, London and New York. Suggested artists include : ADULT, Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Fat Truckers, Yello and Silicone Teens.
