A continual flow of events, usually within a work of fiction. For example, the storyline of frog prince is that guy meets girl, girl thinks guy is ugly, guy gets girl to truly love him (or at least pretend to because he found her magic ball), guy becomes handsome, and girl is rewarded for her true love by being allowed to have one that is shallow again. Whee.
