Spingo: first brewed in the thirteenth century by monks from the Cornish town of Helston. Was then called Stingo. Is still brewed in the same place (a pub known as the Blue Anchor) but not made by people who are remotely monk-like any longer.

Comes in several strengths and the taste varies by the season. If you happen to visit avoid the toilets and tell Tony The Barman I'll pay him back for that bottle of Cinzano I pinched, it made me vomit anyway.
