This is my grandmother's recipe, in her very own hand. I have no idea where she originally got it from, but they are very good. For the Christmas season: (my notes are in italics and parentheses, also the shorthand is expanded)

On greased cookie tin

375 degrees (Fahrenheit)--"about" 12 or 13 minutes

Spice cookies you said you liked:

In large bowl (day before baking)

  1. Cream
  2. Stir into this creamed mixture
    • 1 egg
    • 4 tablespoons Grandmother's Molasses (yellow cap) (don't ask)
  3. In sifter, place:
  4. Gradually, sift and stir into the creamed mixture
  5. Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight
  6. In palm of hand - roll into walnut-sized ball
  7. (Optional) Dip top in white sugar - (place on tins sugar side up) -
