This is my grandmother's recipe, in her very own hand. I have no idea where she originally got it from, but they are very good. For the
Christmas season:
(my notes are in italics and parentheses, also the shorthand is expanded)
On greased cookie tin
375 degrees (Fahrenheit)--"about" 12 or 13 minutes
Spice cookies you said you liked:
In large bowl (day before baking)
- Cream
- Stir into this creamed mixture
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons Grandmother's Molasses (yellow cap) (don't ask)
- In sifter, place:
- Gradually, sift and stir into the creamed mixture
- Wrap in wax paper and refrigerate overnight
- In palm of hand - roll into walnut-sized ball
- (Optional) Dip top in white sugar - (place on tins sugar side up) -
