Server nomenclature is what you call your
servers. Typically
admins will give their servers consistent names, and they are sometimes descriptive. It is traditional that whomever installs the server's OS gets to name it. (see
RFC 2100 (The Naming of Hosts))
At
Cochise College, the servers are named after
Star Wars characters, so we have
yoda, darthmaul, obiwan,
skywalker,
amidala, etc.
