A printing technique that uses stencils. The most common form of serigraphy is silk-screen printing. A sheet of fine silk is stretched over a frame that is laid against a sheet of paper, a piece of cloth, or some other medium. Ink is applied to the exposed side of the silk and is forced through it using a squeegee or press. To control the image, the screen may be laid against a stencil or parts of it may be "blocked out" using glue or a similar substance.
