push-pull is a method used in audio-electronics for getting louder amplification. The principle is to create two independant circuits that are biased to conduct a certain range of voltage, one negative, the other positive, and then pass the signal current to the speaker only when it hits that range. In turn, these circuits "push" the speaker cone, and then "pull" it alternately, depending upon the amplitude of the signal.
