As post-techno electronic music becomes harder and harder to pigeonhole, even meaningless catch-all marketing terms like "electronica" cease to apply. "Post-electronica" is a term for all new forms of electronic music, coined by fans and journalists who have already burned out every possible word that could describe this music.

You could always call it "deep, hard, groove, step, dark, post-electronica.

The options and possibilities made available by computer based sound generation tools seem to be pushing electronica into new directions that cannot be contained in the traditional definition of music. Music addresses and serves certain functions and needs, relaxation, entertainment, etc. It is possible that some of the things called post-electronic serve very different functions and needs.
