Pooh-bah, sometimes spelt poobah, is an amazing word that can be used in any context to mean just about everything. Its origin lies in the Gilbert and Sullivan play The Mikado. In a British dictionary, a Pooh-bah is a person who feels that he can do many things and affects and air of superiority, but actually knows very little. In an American dictionary, it is somebody who is knowledgeable in many areas. Weird, eh?
