One who does practice, or believes in the practice of polyamory/polyamoury. In other words, a responsible non-monogamist.

It takes a lot of patience and effort to be a polyamorist (as opposed to just cheating in relationships). If maintaining a romantic or sexual relationship with one person can be difficult, just imagine how much time, discussion, and compromise it can take to maintain multiple relationships with people who know about each other, and may be maintaining multiple relationships of their own. But it can also double (triple, etc.) the love in one's life, and so is worth it for many people.

One way to network with other polyamorists is through the online resources listed at http://www.aserve.com/holly/supportfaq.html, the alt.polyamory Support and Networking FAQ.
