In fencing, the ability to control the fine movement of the tip of one's weapon. This is particularly important when fencing foil and epee as in both cases points are scored solely with the tip.

Point control is generally exercised through fine movement of the fingers, while the overall position of the weapon is controlled by gross movements of the arm and body. It is absolutely necessary in order to succesfully perform such routine movements as disengages, binds, and counter-parries.
