A game played for amusement that can usually be played with pencil and paper, or with nothing at all. They don't involve any physical movement or challenge. Often these games are played to pass the time or by children who can't understand more complicated games.

Many parlor games are probably ancient, and have been played for thousands of years in one form or another. They are usually passed down by oral tradition.

Examples of parlor games would include hangman, tic tac toe, rock paper scissors and twenty questions
