Owls are unique birds of prey that hunt at night and rely on their hearing and nocturnal eyesight to survive. Because they are incapable of chewing, they must swallow their kills whole. Owl pellets are the remnants of small rodents, lizards, and frogs. They usually include intact skeletons and are held together by clumps of fur, but can contain anything the owl was not able to digest. Owl pellets can be found in forests, fields, or on top of cars that were unfortunately misplaced under large trees.
