Buddhist/Daoist concept, also called no-mind. The original mind is what lies behind all our fears, desires, morals, and the other cruft that we accumulate by being members of a religion, a culture, or a family, or just by being embodied humans. When one sees the innate oneness of all things and gives up judgement and desire, one can act in accordance with the dao of the universe. Contrary to Western assumptions, losing all "motivation" will not lead to inaction, but to perfect and balanced action in accordance with what should be done. The original mind is like a mirror.

A vaguely close Western analog is the True Will. The difference is that attaining the original mind requires one to strip away everything, and following one's true will involves stripping away all things but one.
