A nib which is cut at a slight angle, instead of being ball shaped at the tip. Oblique nibs usually write smoother and feel better to left-handers than normal nibs. They come in right and left oblique cuts. Obliques are not to be confused with italic, nibs which have a pronounced angle at which they are cut. Italic nibs produce calligraphic writing whereas obliques do not. Italic nibs are aka Calligraphy nibs.
