to nodeberg: noding etexts from the Gutenberg project.

Some E2 denizens approve of it, some do not. I suspect yossarian and dem bones of nodeberging. I freely admit to having noded a lot of Kipling's poems.

The verb could be extended, were it to ever come into actual use, to mean "noding of any freely available electronic text".

Project Nodeberg aims to use E2 as a mirror of Project Gutenberg, to foster literary discussion, and to provide an alternative to Cliffs Notes. To contribute to this digital library, you can:

• Find a PG etext that hasn't already been noded and add each chapter as a node. Make sure to link and link aggressively but relevantly so your writeups are seen as content and not NFN.
• Find any etext (e.g. Pinocchio, The Time Machine, or something from the Oz cycle) first published before 1923 (or published before 1961 and not renewed) and add to the discussion by providing your own analysis. If you have a lot of analysis (i.e. more analysis than original text), you may be able to get away with publishing more recent works under the fair use exception, as ESR did in the Halloween Documents.
