Time is a state of mind.
What probably isn't about to happen, often building on what already hasn't quite happened.
Like the assassination of President Rodham, the re-blackening of Michael Jackson, or the Apocalypse. None of these events have happened yet, nor are they likely to occur in our current corner of space-time.
But in some nearby alternate version of reality, they're very possible and soon to happen.

Some would shelve Peace in the Middle East here, but that's a whole different can of worms.
