Mousy describes a wine that is acetic but with flat flavor and odor caused by bacterial contamination. It can occur in dessert wines with a low ethanol content and high pH, as well as some high pH table wines. This can be identified by putting a few drops of the wine in one palm, rubbing your palms together, and sniffing. Doing that won't get you laid, and neither will sniffing the cork.

Mous"y (?), a.

Infested with mice; smelling of mice.
