The
National Wildlife Federation recently (Sep 1999) discovered that levels of
mercury in
rain falling on cities in the
midwest are way above
safe limits. In
Detroit levels were 65 times higher than what the
EPA considers
safe.
The mercury source is said to be coal-fired power plants and incinerators.
So if your ears are ringing, maybe it's NOT because someone is talking about you.
