A LIFT TICKET is a ticket which entitles the wearer to use chair lifts at a ski slope. They are usually in the form of a tag which one attaches to one's outerwear. They were once generally made of paper, and kept in a plastic sleeve to prevent water damage, but these days they are increasingly being made of tougher materials like Tyvek. Lift tickets tend to range from US$10 to US$80 depending on the particular resort or slope, in what part of the season you visit, and the general popularity of the resort or slope in question. They are often brightly colored for easy recognition. Newer lift tickets sometimes have the buyer's picture printed on them.
