Λαδων
- A god of the river of that name in Arcadia and the son of Oceanus and Tethys. He married Stymphalis and had two daughters, DAPHNE and Metope, wife of the river-god ASOPUS. It was also said that Daphne was not the daughter of Stymphalis but of Gaia (Earth).
- Ladon was also the name of the dragon, the son of Phorcys and Ceto, which guarded the golden apples of the Hesperides. Other myths said that this dragon was the son of Typhon and Echidna or sometimes the son of Gaia. He had a hundred heads. After he had been killed by Heracles, Hera turned him into a constellation.
