Early 70s German rock music, krautrock was sort of the german answer to psychedelic rock, with more of an amphetamine, Velvet Underground-like driving sound. Bands include Faust, Can, Cluster, Neu! and early Kraftwerk, though they later went on to more of the beep-boop type electronic sound. Krautrock is probably most known for its influence on later music, notably Abba, Brian Eno, and David Bowie in the period he recorded Low and Heroes.
