The indicative mood is the most commonly employed sentence form in most languages. A sentence in the indicative mood describes an actual or anticipated state of affairs. All the sentences so far in this WU are indicative. This would be in the subjunctive mood, though, if it weren't so totally self-referential. Be in the imperative mood!

In many languages, including English, the mood of a sentence is conveyed by the form of the main verb, and to a lesser extent by the structure of the sentence.
