Boards of Canada. This has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music which i currently own.
Boards of Canada have succeeded in creating a set which hangs together so well as series of tracks. The melodies are simple and uncluttered, the ambience perfect and complimented by spaced-out trippy beats.
For me the standout track is "zoetrope"; it has the grandness and serenity of a piece of classical music. In a way, they are modern classicists with synthesisers and samplers.
