A word used to describe cyberpunk paraphernalia and activity, from Serial Experiments:Lain. Lain's friends (Arisu and crowd) used it in the subtitled English to describe Lain's new fascination with her Navi: "Hey, Lain, I didn't know you were into that hacky stuff!" Yes, it's silly. I suspect it was originally something closer to 'geeky' in Japanese...but I don't know any, much less any idiom. Anyone out there want to confirm?

used repeatedly amongst my friends/fellow coders to describe something that works inelegantly at best. usually means that the code/machine/idea only performs satisfactorily because the creator has used a flaw/trick in their tool in order to force success on their creation.
