- signal fires burning red cherry ashes in bird's eyes as they watched the horses pull, pull and draw and quarter the saint in the stolen robes
- green glass wine bottles from the grocery filled with applesweet-smelling wild roses with petals that spell out the Name of God in strange capillary action of pink and red
- where the earth was torn open river running sweet silver through it
- fractal foxes that chased tails in the dam spume and every lock was opened like the redeemed damned
and then I exhaled
