The policy practiced in determining whether an
immigrant from
Cuba to the
United States may remain in the United States.
If the person is wading ashore, they may be sent back. If they have made it to dry land, they have immunity against repatriation.
Of course, this applies only to people coming from Cuba. Anyone else is subject to being deported at any time.
