Doxastic is an epistemological term, it pertains to those theories of knowledge that say that a belief is only held when there are other beliefs to support it present in the system. Such a system is doxastic, and is usually called an Internal system of epistemology. External or non-doxastic systems include probabalistic systems that rely on Bayes Theorum for determining the probability of certain beliefs.
