To turn a person, group, or idea into an object of hate or ridicule. At its most OTT, the target becomes a credible stand-in for Satan, perhaps making that devil guy consider a new line of work. "Feminazis", are one example, or That Fsckin Borg (a not undeserving target; I never said all demonization is off-base). One could fill a writeup with: suits, liberals, the liberal media, conservatives, AOL, homosexuals, Christians, Disney, corporations...
