"Coneheads" was a sketch on Saturday Night Live in the 1970s, about a family of aliens living on Earth. The title aliens had unusual bald heads shaped like cones (hence the name) and were from a planet called Remulak, but they told people they were from France.
The members of the family were Beldar (Dan Aykroyd), his wife, Prymaat (Jane Curtain), and their teenage daughter Connie (Laraine Newman). They spoke in monotone voices and called eating “consuming mass quantities” and referred to parents as "parental units".
Frank Zappa who had appeared in a sketch with them when he hosted SNL, recorded a song called “Conehead” in 1981. Rankin*/Bass made an animated special in 1983. In 1993, a feature length film based on the sketches was released starring Aykroyd and Curtain, reprising their roles from the original sketches.
