College sailing is an excellent sport practiced around the U.S. It is goverened by the ICSA, and is not affiliated with the NCAA. Most of the racing is done in small double-handed boats, like the FJ and 420, although Lasers are also used and well as a strange mix of Larks, Techs, and a few others.

Racing is done in several formats. There is Fleet, Team, Coed, Women, Singlehanded, and Sloop. There are nationals held every spring for Fleet, Team and Women's racing. The Singlehanded and Sloop nationals are held in the Fall.

There are areound 200 schools participating in college sailing. These schools are seperated into several districts:
