The spectacular and unusual IGS13 approach into Hong Kong's (now closed) Kai Tak International. It is called the "checkerboard approach" because the ILS leads the aircraft toward a building on the side of a mountain off the end of the runway, on the hill under the ILS shack there is a giant orange and white checkerboard painted on the concrete, when the aircraft passes the checkerboard it makes a right turn to land on Kai Tak's runway 13. www.airliners.net has many spectacular pictures of both successful checkerboard approaches and botched approaches.
